Gluten Free Homemade Chicken Wings!


If you’re ever searching for that jar of BBQ Sauce in the pantry, & realize that you actually never bought it…fear not! Here’s a sauce I made out of the same necessity. It’s so simple, you may never want to spend money on store-bought sauce again. And perhaps you like controlling what goes into your sauce, eliminating the need to read labels for the “Certified Gluten Free” marking, and feeling safe as you get ready to enjoy those wings! If you like a bit of heat, add the chili powder. Up to you since it’s your sauce!!


Ingredients for 12 wing portions:

1 cup Ketchup ( always check for G-F label)

½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar

2 tbl Extra Virgin Olive Oil

½ cup Light Brown Sugar ( or more if you really love sweet)

2 tbl Honey

Salt & Pepper to Taste

Dash Ground Ginger

Optional for some HEAT: Chili powder to your taste.



Can’t be easier. Stir all of these ingredients into a bowl.

Clean & pat dry the wings.

Place wings & sauce in a large zip-loc type bag and rotate and flip bag around to mix well. Refrigerate for ½ hr or more (if possible, a bit longer is better.)

Place on a pan ( I like glass for this) side by side. Not stacked. Leave room to get a little golden on all sides as bakes)

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. I like mine with a caramelized coating, but if you see they’re done sooner, then remove. Enjoy!  Worry free, yummy, sweet!
