Gluten Free Gnocchi in Marinara Sauce!
Looks yummy? Well, it’s so easy to prepare, you’ll love it even more.
Just make a simple Marinara Sauce and boil ( brief cooking time, trust me) some Gluten Free Gnocchi and voila! By the way, most markets with a good gluten free section have these packages of Gnocchi in the refrigerator section. You can even freeze the package or part, for a future use.
2 tbl Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 14 oz. can Crushed Tomatoes
2 garlic cloves, minced
Several Basil Leaves. Preferably fresh. But dried is ok too.
Slight dash of Nutmeg.
Salt & Pepper to taste
Grated Italian Cheese to garnish: Parmigiano or Romano.
Gluten Free Gnocchi and enough water to boil. ½ tbl Salt for the water.
In a saucepan or large skillet, warm the oil and then add the Garlic. Do NOT allow to brown. Simply saute until fragrant.
Add the tomatoes, and the basil, S & P, and Nutmeg.
Cover and simmer over a low heat, stirring often to avoid sticking to bottom. Simmer for 20-25 minutes.
During the last 15 minutes, put up that pot of water, salted with ½ tbl Salt.
When boiling, add the Gnocchi and be careful not to overcook. Taste one until you like the texture. They will cook quickly so don’t make that phone to your best friend call just now!!
Drain and place in a bowl. Add the sauce and grated cheese. Yum!
